EmpowHER Purpose is a nonprofit mentoring organization dedicated to empowering young ladies ages 12–18 through mentorship, leadership development, education, community engagement, and opportunities designed to help participants discover their purpose, build confidence, strengthen character, and develop a positive vision for their future. These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the EmpowHER Purpose website, online forms, enrollment resources, sponsorship and donation opportunities, mentor and volunteer applications, and other website-based services. By accessing or using this website, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, please discontinue use of the website. 1. Purpose of This Website The EmpowHER Purpose website provides information regarding our nonprofit organization, mentoring programs, enrollment opportunities, community activities, volunteer and mentor opportunities, sponsorships, donations, events, and related services. Information provided through this website is intended primarily for informational, educational, charitable, and program-related purposes. EmpowHER Purpose reserves the right to modify, suspend, discontinue, add to, or otherwise change website content, programs, services, eligibility requirements, schedules, fees, and opportunities when reasonably necessary. 2. Eligibility and Use of the Website This website may be used by prospective and current mentees, parents and legal guardians, mentors, volunteers, sponsors, donors, community partners, supporters, and members of the general public. Users agree to use this website only for lawful purposes and in a manner consistent with the mission and values of EmpowHER Purpose. Users may not: Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the website or organizational systems; Interfere with the operation or security of the website; Submit intentionally false, fraudulent, misleading, or harmful information; Use information obtained through the website to harass, exploit, contact, or target a mentee or family without authorization; Attempt to obtain confidential information regarding a participant; Copy or use protected EmpowHER Purpose materials without authorization; Impersonate another person or organization; Use the website for unauthorized solicitation, advertising, commercial activity, or unlawful purposes; or Engage in conduct that threatens the safety, privacy, or well-being of an EmpowHER Purpose participant, volunteer, mentor, staff member, supporter, or community partner. EmpowHER Purpose may restrict or terminate website access when it reasonably believes these Terms have been violated. MENTEE ENROLLMENT & PROGRAM PARTICIPATION 3. Mentee Eligibility EmpowHER Purpose provides mentoring and developmental programming primarily for young ladies ages 12–18, subject to the requirements of individual programs. Submitting an enrollment form does not automatically guarantee admission, placement, continued participation, or availability in any particular program. Program enrollment may depend upon available space, eligibility requirements, completion of required forms, parent or guardian authorization, payment or scholarship arrangements when applicable, and other reasonable program requirements. EmpowHER Purpose reserves the right to establish enrollment limits and program requirements consistent with its mission and available resources. 4. Parent or Legal Guardian Responsibility Because EmpowHER Purpose serves minors, a parent or legal guardian may be required to complete or approve enrollment documents and provide appropriate consent before a minor participates in certain programs or activities. Parents and guardians are responsible for providing accurate and current information, including: Participant information; Parent/guardian contact information; Emergency contacts; Required consent forms; Relevant program information; Authorized pickup or release information when applicable; and Other information reasonably necessary to provide program services safely. Parents and guardians should promptly notify EmpowHER Purpose when important contact, emergency, custody, authorization, or other relevant information changes. 5. Parental Consent Acceptance of these website Terms does not, by itself, constitute parental or guardian consent for every EmpowHER Purpose activity. Separate consent or authorization may be required for matters including, but not limited to: Program participation; Field trips; Transportation; Emergency procedures; Photography; Video or audio recording; Media use; Certain off-site activities; Information sharing; or Other activities for which separate authorization is appropriate or required. When separate authorization is required, the applicable parent or legal guardian must complete the appropriate form before the minor participates in the applicable activity. 6. Annual Enrollment Fee EmpowHER Purpose currently has an Annual Enrollment Fee of $35 per participating mentee, unless otherwise stated for a particular program or enrollment period. The annual enrollment fee helps support program-related items and services that may include: Program T-shirt; Welcome packet and journal; Educational supplies; Leadership workshops; Guest speakers; Snacks or meals during sessions; Community service projects; and Administrative support. The exact benefits or services offered may vary based on program availability, funding, scheduling, and organizational resources. Payment of the enrollment fee does not create an employment, contractual, ownership, or membership interest in EmpowHER Purpose. 7. Scholarships and Financial Hardship EmpowHER Purpose believes financial hardship should not unnecessarily prevent a young lady from having an opportunity to participate in our programs. Scholarship or financial assistance opportunities may be available to qualifying participants. Families experiencing financial hardship are encouraged to contact EmpowHER Purpose regarding available assistance. Our goal is that no eligible participant be denied an opportunity to participate solely because of an inability to pay the annual enrollment fee, subject to available program capacity and organizational resources. Scholarship awards may depend on available funding and program resources and are not guaranteed. 8. Enrollment Fee Refunds Enrollment fees help EmpowHER Purpose prepare materials, supplies, administrative resources, and programming for participants. Unless otherwise communicated by EmpowHER Purpose, enrollment fees may become non-refundable once enrollment has been processed or program resources have been committed to the participant. EmpowHER Purpose may consider exceptional circumstances on a case-by-case basis. Any approved refund will be made according to the organization's applicable payment and administrative procedures. 9. Program Changes and Cancellations EmpowHER Purpose may change, postpone, relocate, reschedule, or cancel programs, workshops, events, activities, or field trips due to circumstances including staffing, weather, safety concerns, facility availability, funding, participation levels, emergencies, or other operational needs. When reasonably possible, EmpowHER Purpose will communicate significant changes to affected families. PRIVACY & PROTECTION OF MENTEES 10. Protection of Mentee Information Protecting the privacy and safety of the young ladies participating in EmpowHER Purpose is a priority. Personally identifiable information concerning mentees may include names, addresses, telephone numbers, email addresses, dates of birth, school information, photographs, videos, emergency contacts, enrollment records, family information, and other information capable of identifying a participant. Mentee information will be handled in accordance with the EmpowHER Purpose Privacy Policy and applicable organizational policies. Personally identifiable mentee information is intended to be used for legitimate EmpowHER Purpose program services and administration, except when disclosure is authorized, reasonably necessary for safety or emergency purposes, or required by law. 11. No Unauthorized Access to Mentees Enrollment in, donation to, sponsorship of, volunteering with, mentoring with, or otherwise supporting EmpowHER Purpose does not give any person an automatic right to direct or private access to a mentee. Sponsors, donors, volunteers, mentors, supporters, and other third parties may not use their relationship with EmpowHER Purpose to independently obtain or distribute a mentee's private: Home address; Personal telephone number; Private email address; School information; Family information; Enrollment records; Emergency information; or Other confidential identifying information. Communication or interaction between adult participants and minor mentees must follow applicable EmpowHER Purpose policies and procedures. 12. Privacy Policy Use of this website is also subject to the EmpowHER Purpose Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, protect, store, and disclose personal information. The Privacy Policy should be read together with these Terms & Conditions. If a separate parent/guardian consent form, media release, volunteer agreement, mentor agreement, or other program document contains additional requirements, those requirements will also apply to the activity covered by that document. PHOTOS, VIDEOS & MEDIA 13. Photography and Media Consent Participation in EmpowHER Purpose does not automatically constitute unlimited permission for EmpowHER Purpose to publicly use a minor participant's photograph, video, voice, likeness, or identifying information. EmpowHER Purpose may require a separate Parent/Guardian Photo, Video & Media Release before using identifiable images or recordings of a minor for website, social media, promotional, fundraising, advertising, educational, or public-relations purposes. The terms of the applicable media authorization will govern authorized media use. MENTORS & VOLUNTEERS 14. Mentor and Volunteer Applications EmpowHER Purpose welcomes individuals interested in serving our young ladies and supporting our mission. Submitting a mentor or volunteer application does not guarantee acceptance, placement, assignment to a mentee, or continued participation. Applicants may be required to complete screening procedures established by EmpowHER Purpose. Depending on the position, these procedures may include: Application review; Interviews; Reference checks; Identity verification; Background screening; Training; Orientation; Confidentiality agreements; Code of conduct requirements; and Other safeguards reasonably appropriate for working with minors. EmpowHER Purpose reserves the right to approve, decline, restrict, suspend, or discontinue a mentor or volunteer placement when reasonably necessary to protect participants, maintain program standards, or support the organization's mission. 15. Mentor and Volunteer Conduct Mentors and volunteers are expected to maintain appropriate boundaries and comply with all applicable EmpowHER Purpose safety, confidentiality, communication, and conduct requirements. Mentors and volunteers may not independently use confidential information obtained through EmpowHER Purpose for personal, commercial, fundraising, solicitation, social media, or other unauthorized purposes. Information concerning mentees and their families should be treated as confidential except when disclosure is authorized or required by applicable law or organizational safety procedures. SPONSORSHIPS & DONATIONS 16. Donations EmpowHER Purpose may accept charitable donations through its website or other authorized methods. Donations support the organization's charitable mission, programs, participants, operations, and related nonprofit activities, subject to any legally effective donor restrictions accepted by EmpowHER Purpose. Unless otherwise specifically agreed to in writing, EmpowHER Purpose retains discretion to apply unrestricted donations where they are most needed to advance the organization's charitable mission. 17. Sponsorships EmpowHER Purpose may provide opportunities for individuals, businesses, or organizations to sponsor a mentee, program, activity, event, or organizational initiative. Sponsorship terminology may be used to describe how financial support helps fund our mission. Sponsoring a mentee does not create legal guardianship, custody, ownership, employment, or any other personal legal relationship between the sponsor and the mentee. A sponsorship also does not entitle a sponsor to: Direct private communication with a mentee; A mentee's home address; A mentee's personal telephone number; A mentee's private email address; School information; Family information; Confidential enrollment records; or Other protected participant information. Any sponsor interaction with participants must be specifically authorized and appropriately supervised or managed by EmpowHER Purpose. 18. Donation and Sponsorship Refunds Charitable donations and sponsorship contributions are generally intended to support EmpowHER Purpose's charitable mission. Requests concerning payment errors should be submitted promptly to EmpowHER Purpose. 19. Tax-Deductibility EmpowHER Purpose does not provide individual tax, accounting, financial, or legal advice through this website. The tax treatment or deductibility of a donation, sponsorship, enrollment payment, or other contribution depends on applicable law and the circumstances of the transaction.
